About the MLGBA

The MLGBA provides a fun introduction to organized youth basketball, improves athletic skills and gives older players a chance to play in league competition. Research shows that playing sports provides kids with physical, mental and emotional benefits that last throughout their lifetimes. To give more children the chance to play sports and gain those benefits, the MLGBA gives a sound foundation for beginners and very strong challenge to older players. Mostly, though, this league is about having fun.

Every MLGBA player is assigned to a team. Each week, all teams have one weeknight team practice and one weekend game. K-4th grade games are mostly Saturdays and 5th-12th grade play on Sundays. The league takes great care to make the teams fair and balanced. Player participation and commitment is essential to the success of the team and the league. If you cannot make the majority of practices and games, please do not sign up for the league.

MLGBA Philosophy

MLGBA is dedicated to the education and empowerment of today’s youth by instilling confidence, commitment, integrity and inclusivity. MLGBA is an inclusive league and welcomes all girls, including transgender girls, and kids who identify as boys or non-binary and were assigned female at birth.
